Ashish Gaurikar, born on 5th April 1998 in Panchpawli, Nagpur, was diagnosed with deafblindness at birth, which posed significant challenges throughout his early life. As a child, he struggled with hyperactivity and focus, making it difficult for him to engage in structured activities. However, in 2013, at the age of 15, Ashish enrolled in a Deafblind program that marked a turning point in his life. Through this program, he made steady progress, eventually completing his Secondary School Certificate (SSC), a milestone that reflected his determination and the support he received. In 2017, Ashish began vocational training, learning skills such as making door mats, paper bags, and decorative flowers. These activities not only enhanced his self-esteem but also helped him manage his hyperactivity. Over time, he gained essential life skills, like recognizing colors and managing money, which increased his independence. With his mother’s guidance, Ashish now runs a small daily needs shop, a significant step toward self-reliance. His transformation from a hyperactive child to a confident and capable young adult serves as an inspiring example of how tailored education and vocational training can empower individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling, independent lives.

Sakshi Murkute, diagnosed with deafblindness in 2016, began her journey facing numerous challenges. A shy and introverted child, Sakshi was hesitant to step outside her home, finding the world beyond intimidating and overwhelming. The idea of attending school seemed inaccessible to her, and she struggled to see herself thriving in an academic environment. However, this narrative began to change when the dedicated team of Special Educators from the Manav Vikas Foundation stepped in, offering patient and consistent support. With their encouragement, Sakshi gradually overcame her fears and began her educational journey, eventually excelling academically. She proudly completed her Secondary School Certificate (SSC) with a commendable 52.25%. Alongside her academic progress, Sakshi benefited from the foundation’s home-based services, which helped her develop essential life skills and discover new passions. She found a love for cooking, gaining confidence as she learned to independently prepare simple dishes like Maggi and tea. These experiences not only boosted her self-esteem but also fostered her sense of independence and self-care. Vocational training further expanded her capabilities, allowing her to develop skills in paper cutting, gift wrapping, and other creative activities. Additionally, she learned practical life skills, such as recognizing and managing currency, all of which have played a pivotal role in her path toward self-reliance. Today, Sakshi runs her own imitation jewelry shop, a testament to her resilience and determination. Her transformation from a hesitant child into a confident, self-reliant young entrepreneur highlights the importance of personalized support, inclusive education, and skill development in empowering individuals with disabilities. Sakshi's journey is a powerful reminder that with the right guidance and determination, any obstacle can be overcome. The Silent Began to Speak and The Dead Returned; Muka Anna someone who couldn't speak begins to talk, and presumed dead comes back to life. Muka Anna, a young boy suffering from psychological distress, from a financially strained family. Though his family was heartbroken, they never stopped caring for him. However, his life, already filled with hardship, took a devastating turn when he ran away from home, in a state of mental illness and lost his way back home. After wandering aimlessly for days, Muka Anna eventually ended up in Nagpur. There, the police found him—silent, disoriented, and deeply unsettled—and took him to the Nagpur’s Regional Mental Health Hospital, where he was diagnosed and began receiving treatment. Despite being silent, Muka Anna was diligent in completing any tasks given to him. His progress was notable enough that the doctors decided to give him Voluntary committee discharge and recommended that He must be sent to MVF for further care and support, where his life was reformed, enabling him to reintegrate into society and become an active, contributing member. He was sent to the Manav Vikas Rehabilitation and Reformation Center in Khapa, where his life started to take a positive turn. There, he engaged in various activities, including working on a farm, taking care of poultry, and helping with construction work in the nearby village. Though he was still silent, he was active and participated in every task without fail. People around him still referred to him as "Muka Anna," believing he was mute. One day, while the cook at the center was speaking on the phone with his family in Telugu, Muka Anna, who had been quietly observing, began to smile. The cook was surprised and wondered why Muka Anna was laughing. The cook decided to try speaking to Muka Anna in Telugu, and to everyone’s shock, Muka Anna responded, beginning to speak for the first time in years.
