The work done by Manav Vikas Foundation for uplifting persons with psychosocial disorders is very important. The mission of this organization is to serve persons with psychosocial disorders where they are denied their basic rights. The whole team of this organization is working to provide their basic rights. The yearning of each of these activists is genuine. The president of this organization, Shri. Rajabhau Jodh is a passionate worker and his leadership is felt in all the activities. .
Rajabhau calls me his Backbone but his commitment to his work is a testament to his belief. I am proud beyond words and to see the incredible impact his work has on so many lives. It’s a family built on hope. And as he calls me I am and shall always be Rajabhau's Backbone. .
As a Teacher, I have always believed in the transformative power of learning, but my experience with the Manav Vikas Foundation has profoundly deepened my understanding. Witnessing the incredible work done for children with deafblindness has been an eye-opener. I was astonished to see how important it is to bridge the gap between normal school-going children and children with deafblindness. The foundation's efforts to foster inclusivity and understanding have shown me that education goes beyond textbooks—it’s about creating a space where every child feels seen, heard, and valued. By facilitating opportunities for interaction and collaboration between these groups, we not only enrich the lives of children with deafblindness but also nurture empathy, patience, and mutual respect in mainstream school children. I am immensely proud to be associated with Manav Vikas Foundation and firmly believe that such initiatives are crucial for building a truly inclusive society.
The Foundation’s unwavering commitment to supporting individuals with mental disabilities reflects its highly dedicated staff, working tirelessly to ensure that every individual receives personalized care and opportunities to thrive. Under the visionary leadership of the Director, Rajabhau Jodh and the guidance of my mentor, I gained invaluable insights into advocacy and the importance of creating an inclusive society. Their passion for the cause was truly inspiring and encouraged me to go beyond my own limits. During my time with the Foundation, I witnessed stories of resilience, strength, and growth that left an indelible impact on me. From conducting awareness programs to assisting with rehabilitation initiatives, I felt a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment in contributing to such meaningful work.
Manav Vikas Foundation is truly inspiring in its mission to provide care and dignity to those often forgotten by society. Visiting their mental rehabilitation center in Khapa was a truly heartwarming experience. The center is beautifully maintained, clean, and equipped with all the necessary facilities for the patients. The lively and friendly environment stood out, making it feel like a true home. It deeply moved me to hear Director Rajabhau Jodh share stories of reconnecting patients with their families, even across borders like Nepal and Bangladesh. The caretakers ensure patients take their medicines on time and provide dedicated support, ensuring their well-being. It’s amazing to see patients taking on responsibilities like housekeeping and cooking, earning for their work, and living stable lives. Under the “Hum Log” brand, their creativity shines through products like diyas, jewellery, bags, and mats, and they celebrate every festival together with joy and unity. This place is a beacon of hope and transformation, and I look forward to visiting again and again.
During my Master’s in Social Work with a specialization in Disability Studies and Action at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, I had the privilege of completing my block placement at Manav Vikas Foundation, Nagpur, under the exceptional guidance of Madhura Ma'am and Mrunmayee Ma'am. The foundation’s inclusive environment provided invaluable opportunities, from participating in initiatives like Disability Day and Sathi Sanwad to conducting workshops and developing case stories. Working closely with children with disabilities and their families deepened my understanding of the field and strengthened my community engagement skills. I am sincerely grateful to Manav Vikas Foundation for fostering my growth and creativity, shaping my commitment to disability and social work.
