Project VIHAAN, initiated by Alliance India under the guidance of NACO, has been a beacon of hope and support for people living with HIV (PLHIV) since its inception on August 1st, 2013. The project operates through Care and Support Centres (CSC), which are safe and welcoming spaces for PLHIV to access vital information, health referrals, education, and connections to various social welfare schemes and entitlements.

Over the years, Project VIHAAN has seen remarkable achievements, thanks to the dedication and hard work of the team. Under the leadership of the exceptionally talented Mrs. Asha Menon, who has been steering this initiative as the Project Lead at MVF for the past 10 years, the program has made a profound impact on the lives of many.

Here are some of the key achievements of Project VIHAAN:

(1) 92 PLHIVs have undergone PAP SMEAR Tests, empowering them with essential knowledge about their health.
(2) 60 PLHIVs have been provided loans under the Income Generation Program (IGP), helping them build a path toward financial independence.
(3) 525 PLHIVs participated in district-level advocacy meetings for the ‘Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana’, resulting in the successful reinstatement of their pensions and social security benefits.
(4) 180 children living with HIV (CLHIV) have received much-needed nutritional support to ensure they grow up healthy and strong.
